Stimulate establishment/expansion of commercial

large-scale forage production and marketing in RIPA

program Area

Mercy Corps is an international, non-governmental humanitarian relief and development organization that exist to alleviate suffering and poverty by helping people build secure. productive and sustainable community driven changes.

Mercy corps through its RIPA program has planned to catalyze feed/fodder supply system through capacity building of selected market actors in the Resilience in Pastoral Areas-North (RIPA-north) program targeted areas of Shebelle Zone of Somali region.

Thus, Mercy Corps RIPA is welcoming applications from existing/new commercial forage (feed/seed) producers. who are interested to expand/establish forage production to create market based solutions for livestock producers in Pastoral and Agro-Pastoral Area per the detailed in call for application which can be accessed from any of Mercy corps offices listed at the end of this RFA.

Criteria:

– Registered business entities under Ethiopian law with recently renewed business license from the relevant authorities:

– New or existing forage production business who have prior experience on the feed business management in and/or around RIPA targeted woredas.

– Have the financial capacities and other related resources (land, access to water, power) to leverage and expand the proposed business idea that required;

– Confirmed land ownership at least 30-50 ha of land for own production and a clear system to create forage production and marketing out grower schemes.

– Commitment to share information related to the service and the business operation with mandated local govemment bodies and the Mercy Corps.

Expression of interest (proposal) that contains both technical and financial proposal as per the format provided in the call for application shall be submitted in a sealed envelope to the below Mercy corps offices:
